This was my N-th visit to KimSambo, and it never disappoints! 💯

We visited around 1 PM on a Friday, and the place was only half full.

But, no matter when you visit, there are always people here.

The last time I came during the weekend, I thought it would be quiet, but it was packed with military personnel! 😅

 

One of KimSambo's charms is their rice cooked in a pot (솥밥),

which you can see being prepared from outside the restaurant.

So excited! 😋

 

Once inside, you’ll notice that the space is quite large with plenty of seating.

There are tables for big groups, but I also saw a lot of people dining solo here.

I’ve tried their Budae Kimchi Stew (Army Kimchi Stew) before, and while it’s delicious, the Pork Kimchi Stew is truly unbeatable here.

We were only two people, but I couldn’t resist ordering the King Egg Roll too! 🍳

Even though we only ordered one stew, the portions are really generous and more than enough!

 

Each table comes with a drawer filled with utensils and napkins.

 

They also provide aprons and bowls for your rice and side dishes. Super convenient! 👌

 

The Pork Kimchi Stew arrived quickly with chunks of pork floating around in the spicy broth. So good! 🤤

 

And then came the King Egg Roll—super fluffy and delicious! 😍

 

The rice is served in a pot (솥밥), and even though we only ordered one stew, we got two pots of rice! 🙌

 

You scoop the rice into your bowl and pour water into the pot, cover it, and wait for it to turn into crispy rice at the end, called nurungji. Perfect way to finish the meal. 👏

 

The stew was hearty, and the meat was especially tender and flavorful, probably because it's from a BBQ restaurant. 🐷

 

Everything was so satisfying, and the portions are massive! Highly recommend it if you’re ever in Yeouido.
