Looking for something active to do with friends, we decided to try HIDE AND SEEK!

HIDE AND SEEK is an activity based on the classic game of hide and seek, but with a twist—it offers an experience similar to playing an online game.
Players must use strategic thinking and interaction to compete against each other and claim victory.

The building with the 'Yulgok' cafe on the first floor is where it’s located.
If you’re in Yeonnam-dong, walk about 5 minutes from Yeonnam Police Station toward Amanti Hotel Seoul, and you'll find it on the left.
If you’re near Hongdae, cross the street from Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station for the quickest route.

They were also running a social media promotion.

 

We waited for a bit in the waiting area!
We were a group of three, but we called three more friends to join us.
Even if you book alone or with just one other person, you can play the game with others.

 

The walls have explanations and tips about the game.
But they only made sense after we actually played... 😅

 

We stored our electronics and outerwear in the lockers!

 

Switched to slippers.

 

We even wore small bags 😊
These come in handy for storing life chips or mission tools during the game.

 

Once the devices were strapped onto our arms and hands, we were ready to go~

The tutorial felt like it lasted about 20 minutes, and the actual game about 30 minutes!

 

We got a thorough explanation in the practice room, tried things out, and the staff also gave us direct instructions :)

 

Then, we entered the actual game room, watched a short video, and the door opened!
The tension was MAX at this point!

 

It was a bit dark, and the volume was loud, which made it scary for someone like me 😅

 

Once inside, everyone scattered to wait for their roles... A voice came over the PA, and one player’s arm lit up in purple—that was me, the seeker! 😆

 

I usually prefer to be a survivor, but I ended up as the seeker 😊

I was so overwhelmed that I couldn’t do much at first, but the staff gave me instructions through the PA just for me 😂

 

As the seeker, I roamed around tagging survivors!

 

I caught someone by chance, took their life chip, and felt a lot more relaxed afterward.

 

When the seeker opens a door, an announcement is made about an intruder, so survivors either escape through vents or hide 😊

 

If the seeker gets close to a survivor, their arm vibrates!

 

I must have startled them when I showed up while they were on a mission! 😆

 

When you make eye contact with the seeker, you have to give them your life chip!

 

There are also devices where you can use life chips to revive yourself 😊

There were 6 of us, and if I collected 10 life chips, I would win as the seeker—and I did it!
Seeker victory! (Apparently, the game is a bit easier for the seeker.)

 

Here’s the name tag we used!
We called each other by name since we knew each other,
but most people choose a nickname since they’re playing with strangers.

 

There’s even a bathroom inside the venue 😊

 

Unlike escape rooms, spoilers are totally welcome here!

 

They even took a group photo for us!

 

I had so much more fun than I expected!
The survivor friends said they had fun too, but there were many things they wish they could’ve done better as it was their first time 😅
I’m definitely coming back to try as a survivor next time!!!

The team is divided into 5 survivors and 1 seeker, and each must use their strategy to win.
But HIDE AND SEEK is not just simple hide and seek.
The game devices, such as doors, vents, power supplies, and escape devices, are all interconnected and interactive.
Every player wears an "IoT Glove," a device that allows interaction during the game.
Survivors can use vents to evade the seeker, and seekers can hack doors to set traps to catch survivors—so many strategies can be employed.
