I visited Gop, the oldest gopchang (beef intestine) restaurant in Mullae-dong! 😊
They’ve been in business for 14 years, long before Mullae became a popular hotspot!
Take Exit 5 at Mullae Station and head towards the Mullae Food and Culture Street.
If you park at the Rodeo Wax building, they offer 2 hours of free parking!
Restrooms are outside the restaurant with separate facilities for men and women.
You can’t miss the sign for Gop as you approach the area!
This restaurant only uses fresh gopchang from Hanwoo (Korean beef), slaughtered on the same day.
They pride themselves on maintaining top freshness, and they don’t use any artificial tenderizers—only natural fruit-based ones! 🍏🍊
This place was even featured on Lee Young-ja's famous food list and has appeared on multiple TV shows like Tasty Guys and Restaurant Road!
No matter if it’s a weekday or weekend, there’s always a line here for this famous gopchang spot.
It’s also been certified as a top Seoul restaurant by Blue Ribbon Survey, so you know it’s legit!
You can see the gopchang being grilled outside the restaurant as you approach.
They recently launched a new menu item: Uiseong Garlic Gopchang!
That’s what I came for. 😊
There’s also a highball promotion going on!
When we arrived at around 6 PM on a Thursday, there was only one table left— lucky us!
Right after that, people started lining up.
The seating had that classic gopchang restaurant vibe, and the chairs even had storage inside for your bags to keep them from smelling like food!
Just like the sign says, only fresh Hanwoo gopchang, no artificial tenderizers— just natural fruit! 🍎
The place was packed!
We ordered 2 servings of Uiseong Garlic Gopchang at 23,000 KRW each.
They gave us aprons and even the water tasted good here! 😊
The green onion kimchi, which they make themselves, is grilled in gopchang oil and served with the gopchang.
The combination is perfect!
They brought out sauce, spoons, and wet wipes.
As soon as we sat down, they served us a hot tofu stew. It started bubbling right away! 😋
While we waited, we checked out the restroom and admired the window view.
Why are all those beer bottles displayed so nicely?
Once fully cooked, the spicy and smooth tofu stew was the perfect warm-up.
Finally, the Uiseong Garlic Gopchang arrived, already grilled to perfection.
I love that it’s served pre-grilled! 😊
They gave us plenty of rice cakes, potatoes, onions, and chives.
The staff explained that the gopchang is filled with garlic— and you can really hear it sizzling!
They said they sell it at no profit to show appreciation to their customers. 😊
The garlic inside the gopchang is made from 100% domestic garlic from Uiseong, known for its quality. It’s minced and stuffed inside, adding a bold garlic flavor to the rich gopchang taste. Absolutely amazing!
The combination of garlic-stuffed gopchang, chives, and green onion kimchi was just amazing! ❤️
The rice cakes were grilled just right, making every bite delicious.
Whenever I grill them myself, they either burn or undercook. Not here!
This garlic-stuffed gopchang was packed full and absolutely addictive.
I couldn’t stop eating!
Whether I ate it with chives, green onion kimchi, or even just dipped in sauce— every bite was different and delightful.
And that spicy tofu stew went perfectly with the gopchang, too.
Although they didn’t have any zero-calorie soda, we finished up with a Coke and Sprite each.
A great ending to a great meal!
They even had air fresheners to use before we left— such a thoughtful touch! 😊
I often go to Times Square, and since this place is nearby, it’s definitely going on the list for future date nights!
I highly recommend Gop Mulrae Branch, especially their Uiseong Garlic Gopchang— you’ve got to try it! 💯
