Whenever I crave sushi in Yeouido, I always find myself heading to Sushiya.
Located in the basement of Jeongwoo Building, it feels like every restaurant here is a hidden gem.
Take the stairs down to the basement food court, and you’ll spot Sushiya on your right.
Inside, they have tables for groups and solo diners alike.
They even have a bar seating area, but I haven’t seen anyone sitting there so far.
Maybe it’s more for the evening crowd. 😉

The menu has a luxurious feel, just like a classic Japanese restaurant.

Today, I went for the Special Assorted Sushi—totally worth it at 20,000 KRW!
The sushi is always accompanied by a refreshing salad and pickled ginger.
Watching the sushi being prepared adds to the experience!
The best part? They also serve you a warm bowl of udon and crispy shrimp tempura on the side.
Definitely a must-try! 🍤🍜
Flounder Sashimi Rice Bowl – 15,000 KRW
While this dish doesn’t come with udon or tempura, you still get a warm bowl of udon soup. The rice bowl is packed with generous portions of flounder sashimi, giving it a truly luxurious feel. It’s a delicious, premium take on the classic sashimi rice bowl. 🍚
Tuna Sashimi Rice Bowl + Udon + Tempura – 12,000 KRW
Although this dish is a bit more than 10,000 KRW, it’s called “Happiness for 10,000 KRW”! You mix everything with a bit of gochujang sauce, and the result is heavenly. The udon and tempura make this an incredible deal for the price. I love adding extra wasabi to my rice bowl for that extra kick. Every bite is filled with delicious chunks of tuna sashimi. 🐟
I also ordered the Sushiya Sushi Set (16,000 KRW) to take home. It comes with 3 pieces of white fish, 2 pieces of salmon, 2 pieces of tuna, 1 piece of tamago, 1 piece of shrimp, 1 piece of raw shrimp, 1 piece of squid, and 1 piece of beef.
I have to say, I almost liked this set more than the 20,000 KRW sushi set. Maybe it’s just my mood, but everything tasted amazing! 🍱
